Excel is the de facto 'Data Recycling' tool we all use to get the reports we want

The fact is that millions of business people use Excel as an extremely handy place for storing data before manually (cutting and pasting) recycling it into useful reports.

We do this partly because IT systems are so inflexible but mostly because we are experts when it comes to our own Excel data - the last thing we want is yet another application to learn when Excel is so very good for our needs.

The downside is that 'recycling' data from incompatible systems to turn it into useful reports is very time consuming and error prone - lots of Excel cutting and pasting.

For example, Project Managers and Program Directors know all about the problems of managing dozens of Spreadsheets and Microsoft Project Plans holding different versions of the truth - different formats, different time periods, different 'meanings' for the same columns ... The Weekly Project Status Report is often a time consuming chore and the final results may be late in arrival and management often doubt the 'truth' of the data when it is presented.

SDS is a complete solution to this problem of cutting and pasting spreadsheets (and MS Project Files and other data ...) and gets results in Real Time.

Rather putting all of the spreadsheets into a Data Warehouse, SDS understands that - like it or not - people will always want their data close to hand so that they can manipulate it in any way they choose.SDS helps them do precisely this by flowing like plastic around individual spreadsheet data and connecting it together so the Business User can express sophisticated questions as if the data was all in one large virtual spreadsheet.
